FAQs
What should I do if I see someone who looks like they are homeless in the Folkestone & Hythe district?
The Rainbow Centre supports individuals who are rough sleeping or sofa surfing and works alongside other organisations providing additional assistance. If you see someone who appears to be homeless, please direct them to the Rainbow Centre between 10am and 1pm, so they can make an appointment with our Homeless Support Service.
What is the best way to help someone who is begging on the streets?
You could offer to buy a hot drink or a sandwich or even a bottle of water, and direct them to the Rainbow Centre.
One of the best ways to help would be to make a donation to the Rainbow Centre to support our front line work. You can do this via Just Giving cash or cheque made payable to the Rainbow Centre.
I would like to make a food donation to the Rainbow Centre. What sort of items would be useful?
We are always grateful to receive food items and you can find a list of the most helpful items here:
Please ensure that all items are in date and unopened. If you would like more details, please contact Warehouse Coordinator: Tel no: 07813 726498 or Email: warehouse@rainbow-centre.org
Christmas must be very difficult time for someone who is homeless and so I would like to make up a gift box and donate it to the Rainbow Centre. What can I buy?
We are very grateful for all the gifts which we receive for our clients over the Christmas period, but we often end up with many boxes of scarves and hats which we are not able to distribute. If you would like to give a Christmas gift, you may like to consider donating food items or perhaps a small financial donation via our Just Giving.
