Food Donations – March 2020

We supply emergency food, via red vouchers, to single people and families in need across the Folkestone & Hythe District (Shepway), through our Foodbanks in Folkestone, New Romney and Lydd as well as supply food to clients through our Homeless Support Service, FoodStop (mobile soup kitchen) and Winter Shelter projects.  We distribute an average of 2.5 tonnes of food from our warehouse every month, that’s the equivalent of 5000 tins of tomatoes!

All the food we give out comes from donations received from the generous people in our local community.  As you can imagine, we receive more of some items than others, so to ensure that nothing goes to waste from overstocking and that we don’t need to use our valuable funds buying items we are short of, our Foodbank produces a poster of the most needed items each month.

If you are able to pop an extra item from the list in your shopping basket this week/month we would be really grateful.  There are several places across the district where you can drop off your donations in our orange food collection bins.
