As the Covid-19 pandemic unfolds in the UK, our main priority is ensuring the safety of everyone who supports or needs the Rainbow Centre’s services – whether it’s someone needing help, someone volunteering their time, or our staff members. Government guidance is changing on a daily basis, and we are closely monitoring the situation in order to best respond to the circumstances.
While we want to continue to provide services to those who are most in need in our community, we have a responsibility to safeguard all staff members and our volunteers. Our challenge is to make sure that we are doing as much as we can for our clients without placing anyone at risk. We have already agreed some changes to way which services are being run. These include reducing the number of days which the Rainbow Shop is open and operating a telephone “triage” service for the Homeless Support Service which will involve clients contacting the HSS by phone in the first instance rather than coming to the Centre in person.
At the current time, Foodstop and Shepway Foodbank will continue to operate as usual, but these services could be subject to change at short notice.

Please note that the Homeless Support Service is open for existing clients who are rough sleeping only. New rough sleeping clients should approach the council for a Homelessness Application and decision letter and then ring the number above.
