Carrie’s Marathon Challenge

Posted 27 March 2023

Carrie Thomas is running the London Marathon this year to raise funds for the Rainbow Centre.

Her training is going well and she is on track for the Marathon which takes place in April. This weekend Carrie ran 20 Miles in the Saxons, Vikings and Normans Marathons & Challenges, which, this week, was a ‘Fudgeathon’! A lady had made lots of yummy fudge for the competitors to eat. Carrie said her favourite was apple crumble!

Running at Samphire Hoe, this weekends severe weather meant the sea wall was closed and an alternative course had to be set. The wind was brutal, the rain showers regular and Carrie really didn’t know if she was going to make it round the course.

It was running with her friend, Lee, that gave Carrie the support to compete the a distance of 20 miles and she recieved a lovely medal and goody bag.

Well done Carrie, and Lee, for your amazing efforts in training for the London Marathon come rain or shine.
